Direct-sun Solar Polarimeter (SolPol)

PI: William MartinOperators: Vasiliki DaskalopoulouParametres: Linear Polarization of Direct Solar Irradiance, Circular Polarization of Direct Solar Irradiance, Complete Stokes Vector

The direct-sun Solar Polarimeter "SolPol", kindly conferred by the University of Hertfordshire, measures the degree of linearly- and/or circularly-polarized forward-scattered sunlight, indicating the orientation of aerosol particles in the atmosphere. Measurements are performed at 550nm, with associate precision and accuracy in the order of the 1ppm and 1%, respectively.
